This takes anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes of my night at work... and sometimes I'll get home and think... "did I lock that door?" or, "did I shut that X down?"  Oh autopilot you help me find peace in the ability to shut off my mind and go through the motions... but you ultimately frustrate the bejesus out of me.

My entire life since I moved to Indiana has felt like an experiment in autopilot.  Maybe it's the weird schedule... maybe it's fear... maybe it's both or maybe something else... but I had so many GREAT plans when I moved here that I've not set into action... but that is all about to change...

Christmas Insomnia...

So now without sleep... here is what have I learned about myself...

  1. Since I end up alone a lot of the time I tend to talk to inanimate objects... giving them personalities... ie) Phillip the car, Kevin the plant, Bernard the Teddy Bear... the list continues to grow...
  2. I enjoy making up songs about the inanimate objects... singing them often... ie) "You are a little white car - Phillip - you like to drive so far - Phillip" and "Phillipy, Phillipy (repeat)"...
  3. I like order a LOT... but still somehow am a VERY messy person...
  4. I am terrified of moving to Korea... but am excited at the same time...
  5. Stupid stupid STUPID things make me cry... ie) Commercials, sitcoms, country songs...
  6. Favorite quote...
me: have you gotten Coop warmed up to being a sheep yet?
Kendra: Not a chance....mom even tried to trick him saying... "Ah buddy, you get to be a white tractor" ...no way... as soon as we tried to put the lamb hat on...he freaked out and threw it on the floor, "Ma-maw that's the yammie hat....I don't yike the yammie hat (sad face)."
I laugh out loud EVERY single time I think about almost 3-year old Cooper saying this...
  7. I cannot spell to save my life...
  8. I get cold very easily... please be 80 degrees the rest of my life world...
  9. I miss photography and don't take photos anywhere near as much as I should...
  10. Life has been pretty boring... pretty safe... and I'm finally ready for a challenge...

In My Bones

It’s a funny phrase really... one I’m not sure I've said before... not like this anyway.  It’s a feeling.  I, in my bones, know this is what I want to do.  I’m tired of taking the “safe” road, the “easy” road, or the “so far out there that could never possibly happen but you already know that so you can’t be disappointed” road.  I need to stop trying to do things that take all my energy and effort to produce uninspiring results.  I also need to stop doing things that leave me uninspired.  I went to school to be a photographer... & that is what I am going to do.

MOVING MOVING MOVING

It was moving week here in my world... which meant filling Phillip up to the very top!  I don't know how many trips I made in my little white car... but I was pleasantly surprised at how much could be packed into a Liftback Yaris.

Now Phillip and I have a new home and I know I love it.  It's the first time I've ever lived on my own.  It's just a small little studio but it's more than enough room for me.  & they even fixed the ally behind my building so Phillip doesn't mind it too much either :)

Now all that's left is the UNPACKING UNPACKING UNPACKING... & all the sorting that comes along with it.

25!

In 0 hours and 54 minutes I will turn 25 years old.  I currently live in a small town in Indiana four hours away from my family with my little white car Phillip.  Phillip and I go on adventures.  My boyfriend of three years, Dean, leaves for South Korea in 16 days to teach English for a year.  That is his big adventure... these are mine.  :)

Today Phillip and I drove and drove through the country and across the Ohio line to get to the closest BMV.  You see... my license expires tomorrow and so do Phillip’s tags.  Last weekend I went back to Ohio specifically to take care of those matters.  I got to my hometown around 5PM on Friday... the BMV was closed.  On Saturday we had to wake up EXTRA early to go to the next town over... 45 minutes away... so Dean would have cell phone reception for a call from Korea.  At 11PM I remembered... BMV!  And since it was a holiday weekend there was no way to get them before I had to return to Indiana.  The drive was beautiful and I love the way I feel when I cross over to Ohio.  It’s like the state is as happy to see me as I am to see it.
